Real-photo postcard capturing 20 members of the 1907 American League Champion Detroit Tigers in a classic team pose, including Ty Cobb in his rookie season, manager Hughie Jennings, Sam Crawford, George Mullin, and Germany Schaefer. The white-letter caption along the base reads “Detroit’s 1907.” 1907 marked the first of Detroit’s three consecutive American League Championship seasons, all of which ultimately ended with a World Series loss. The postcard (5.5 x 3.5 inches) displays a few surface impressions (from corner mounts) and light corner wear. The reverse has not been addressed but displays evidence of album removal. Graded GOOD 2 by SGC, the card presents at a much higher level than suggested by its technically accurate grade. This is a very attractive example of this early Detroit Tigers postcard dating from Ty Cobb's rookie season. Opening Bid $300.
