Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Hall of Famer Amos Rusie from the N300 Mayo series. Rusie was issued in two variations in the Mayo set, with his name spelled correctly, and with his name misspelled "Russie," with an extra "s." This is the variation with the misspelling. Because Rusie's career spanned the years from 1889 to 1901, an era in which few sets were issued, he appears on very few cards. Bright and crisp with light wear to the condition-sensitive edges and corners and centering towards the bottom left. The blank back is clean with just a few scattered spots of chipping. This is a solid mid-grade example of one of the most important Hall of Famers in the Mayo set and one of Amos Rusie’s classic cards, dating from the height of his career. Opening Bid $1,000.
