Graded EX-MT+ 6.5 by PSA. Tremendous high-grade example of Eddie Mathews’ rookie card. In addition to being his rookie card, 1952 Topps card #407 Eddie Mathews is also one of only a few key Hall of Famers in the rare high-number series. And as the last card in the set, is also a condition rarity. Just as card #1 Andy Pafko was subject to wear due to gravitating to the top of the pile, #407 Mathews was subject to excessive wear at the bottom of the stack. In anything even resembling high grade, this has always been a very difficult card to find. The offered card has vibrant colors, a crisp image, strong corners with light touches of wear, and centering toward the top (this card is frequently encountered with dramatic centering issues).
