Complete set of 1951 Berk Ross "Hit Parade of Champions" consisting of thirty-five two-card panels as originally issued and two individual cards (seventy-two cards total). The set was issued in perforated two-card panels, which were designed to be separated. Only one panel (#1-1/1-3 Rosen/Rizzuto) in this set is separated. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports, including Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Ben Hogan, Bob Cousy, Sugar Ray Robinson, and other "Hit Parade of Champions!" Condition is 20% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 51% Vg-Ex to Ex (mostly due to centering), and 29% Gd to Vg (mostly due to centering and including one trimmed). Four cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1-3 Rizzuto (Ex-Mt+), 1-9/1-11 Cousy/Ashburn (VG/EX 4), 2-1/2-3 Musial/Henrich (EX 5), 2-2/2-4 Spahn/Berra (EX 5), 2-5/2-7 DiMaggio/Hamner (VG 3, very small crack in holder), 2-13/2-15 Robinson/Sitko (Ex-Mt), 3-17/3-18 Sherman/Owens (slight trim, otherwise Nr/Mt), and 4-5/4-8 Ford/Roberts (85/15 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt+). This is a very attractive complete set of these unusual, scarce, and underrated vintage multi-sport cards, which represent a tremendous value for collectors compared to other cards of the era.
