Graded VG 3 by PSA. Attractive mid-grade example of a classic bubble-gum card featuring Babe Ruth in his classic follow-through batting pose. Goudey must have realized this was a classic pose, because of all the cards in the set, this is the one it chose to double print when replacing missing card #106 during production. This continues to be one of Ruth's most popular and recognizable baseball cards. Because of being double-printed by Goudey (there were exactly twice as many Ruth #144s printed as any other card in the same series), this card also represents the best value among the four Babe Ruth cards in the 1933 Goudey set. This card has vibrant colors, a crisp image, honest corner wear, and centering toward the right. Boldly printed reverse. This card would be a worthy addition to a 1933 Goudey, Babe Ruth, or classic-card collection. Opening Bid $5,000.
