Ticket stub issued for Game 1 of the 1914 World Series between the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Braves, held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia on October 9th. Graded VG 3 by PSA (submitted by REA). This is one of only three 1914 World Series Game 1 ticket stubs graded at this level by PSA with none higher. This ticket commemorates one of the most improbable World Championships in baseball history. On July 18, 1914, the Boston Braves were in last place and trailed the first place Giants by eleven games. Miraculously, the team then went on a remarkable winning streak that had them post a record of 60-16 to close out the season and capture the pennant. That incredible feat, together with their subsequent victory over the A's in the World Series, earned the club the apt sobriquet “The Miracle Braves." The ticket stub (4.25 x 2 inches) displays light creasing and few scattered markings on the front. An outstanding example of this scarce World Series ticket stub. Opening Bid $300.
