Exceedingly rare original program from Wilt Chamberlain's historic 100-point performance signed by Chamberlain in gray marker along the front cover. Chamberlain has inscribed "Wilt Chamberlain 13" (denoting his jersey number). Our consignor's father attended the game on one of his first dates with his wife. He kept the program and ticket (which is being offered as a separate lot in this auction). He later had the program signed in person at a show near Philadelphia. To this day, the 100 points remain a single-game scoring record and is a record that has never been seriously threatened. In this untelevised classic in front of a scant crowd of 4,124 on March 2, 1962, in Hershey, Pa, Chamberlain shot 36 of 63 from the field and knocked down 28 of 32 free throws, leading the charge for his Philadelphia Warriors over the New York Knickerbockers 169-147. This is the first signed example of this program we have ever handled! The 23-page program (7.75 x 10.75 inches) has a partially detached front cover, a few pen and pencil notations (visible along the front cover and interior pages), and light foxing along the back cover (which is also partially detached). The scorecard, which appears on Page 13, is scored, albeit incorrectly (the scorecard has the game scored 169-146). In Good condition overall. Also included in the lot is a check from 1962 that the consignor's father used to purchase the tickets to the game for $8. This is a phenomenal piece of basketball history and would make a fantastic addition to a world-class basketball collection. An Upper Deck certification sticker is affixed to the front cover. The program is also accompanied by an Upper Deck COA. Opening Bid $5,000.
