Jim Rice Worth block-letter (full name) model "WC115" dating from the 1988-1989 manufacturing period. Graded GU 6 by PSA/DNA. The bat, which has a slight handle crack, displays evidence of outstanding use along the barrel, including ball marks, ball-stitch impressions, cleat marks, and a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Rice's initials ("JR"), the length of the bat ("4 1/2"), and model number ("WC115") are stamped on the knob. The PSA/DNA letter notes that "also appearing on the knob is another player number (11) written in black marker." Rice has signed the bat in silver ink on the barrel. One of the most feared sluggers of his era, Rice retired in 1989 with 382 home runs, 1,451 RBI, and a .298 average. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. Length: 34.375 inches. Weight: 32.5 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (bat only). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (autograph only). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $200.
