Rawlings block-letter (full name) model "456B" bat used by Robinson Cano during the 2008 season. The bat has evidence of excellent use along its entire length, including numerous ball marks and stitch impressions on the barrel (ball marks include white-leather scuffs), cleat marks, and the lower-handle and knob have been taped to enhance the grip. There is a light coat of Mota Stick on the handle. The model number ("456B"), order number ("106"), and year code ("08") are each stamped in the knob. Cano has personally attested to its game-used status during his 2008 season by inscribing it "Robinson Cano/Game Used/2008" in silver paint pen on the sweet spot of the barrel. The bat is accompanied by a pair of blue-and-white Nike batting gloves, each signed by Cano in blue Sharpie on the backhand side, just above the wrist strap. The gloves displays moderate use, including soiling on the palms and fingers. Cano enjoyed a fine season with the Yankees in 2008, finishing the year with 14 home runs, 72 RBI, and a .271 average. One of the top hitters of his era, Cano has a lifetime average of .301 with 335 home runs and 1,306 RBI. Length: 34 inches. Weight: 32.6 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (corresponding sticker affixed to the barrel end). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (autograph only). Total: 3 items (bat and pair of batting gloves). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $200.
