Presented is an uncracked Original Maple Bat Co. (SAM) model "AS12" bat used by Alfonso Soriano during the 2008 season. Graded GU 9 by PSA/DNA. The bat displays evidence of heavy use, including numerous ball marks and stitch impressions on all sides of the barrel (ball marks include blue-ink transfers), green rack marks, and a moderate coat of pine tar. According to the PSA/DNA letter "the handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip." Soriano's uniform number ("12") is written on both the knob and barrel end in black marker. The notations "35 - 33 - 8 20 08 - AS12 - 8558" are written on the barrel end in black marker. The notations represent bat length, weight, date of manufacture, model number, and order number, respectively. Soriano has signed the bat and added his uniform number "12" in black marker on the barrel. Soriano enjoyed another tremendous season in 2008, finishing the year with 29 home runs, 75 RBI, and .280 average. He was also named to the All-Star team. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33.1 ounces.
