Rare four-page, fold-over boxing program dated January 24, 1963, from a six-bout card at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The program is signed on the back cover in blue ink by Cassius Clay. The main event was a 10-round heavyweight bout between Clay and Charlie Powell (identified as "Charley" on program), both of whom are featured on the cover. Clay knocked out Powell in the third round of what was his first of three fights that year. Just more than one year later Clay shocked the boxing world by defeating Sonny Liston for the heavyweight title. This is the first signed example of this program we have offered, and we cannot recall having seen another at auction. The program (6.25 x 9.5 inches) has a number of folds and heavy creases and is in Fair condition overall. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $300.
