Collection of seventeen different cards from the rare C59 Imperial Tobacco set, devoted exclusively to the game of lacrosse. The C59 set (along with the similar C60 set), are the premier lacrosse sets of the era and are widely collected by many serious hobbyists, including hockey-card collectors. Designed similarly to the popular C55 and C56 "Hockey Series" cards from the same era, these very significant and scarce sets are often overlooked by collectors. Condition is two Vg-Ex, four Vg, three Gd, and eight lesser (mostly Fr and including one trimmed). Three cards are graded and encapsulated by PSA. The collection consists of the following: #1 Muir (trimmed left edge, otherwise Gd-Vg), 14, 17, 18 Hutton (VG 3, member of hockey HOF), 20 (VG-EX 4, PSA holder is cracked), 21, 22, 23 (VG-EX 4), 26, 34, 41, 46, 47, 58, 64, 79, and 93. This is a very attractive medium- to lower-grade collection of this scarce and desirable 1910-era Canadian tobacco-card issue. Total: 17 cards. Opening Bid $200.
