Cincinnati Reds road jersey worn by Eric Davis during his 1984 rookie season. Graded A9 by MEARS. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Cincinnati" across the front and features the number "44" on the left breast and reverse. "Davis" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in solid red tackle twill. The year and set-number ("84 1") are chain-stitched in red upon a gray strip tag located on the left front tail. A "Wilson 42" label appears in the collar. Davis has signed the jersey in black ink on the front. The jersey is original as issued, with no alterations, and according to the MEARS LOA displays heavy wear throughout. Davis had a mediocre rookie campaign in 1984. Playing in just 57 games, he finished the year with 10 home runs, 30 RBI, and a .224 batting average. From 1986 to 1990 Davis was one of the top sluggers in the National League. He finished his career in 2001 with 282 home runs, 934 RBI, and a .269 average. Graded A9 by MEARS (10-point base grade with a one point deducted for the staining). Full LOA from MEARS (jersey only).
