This extremely rare fold-over scorecard, often referred to by collectors as “accordion style” because of its fold-out design, features a cover portrait image of Cincinnati catcher James Keenan set against an ornate full-color background. The scorecard was issued for an American Association game between the Red Stockings (Cincinnati) and the Kansas City Cowboys at League Park in Cincinnati. The preprinted lineups include Davis, McTamany, Easterday, and Donahue for Kansas City, and McPhee, Reilly, Viau, and Nicol for Cincinnati. The scorecard is not scored. Bright, crisp, and clean, this example is in remarkably high grade for scorecards from this series, because the numerous fold lines natural to the design make these rare scorecards very susceptible to damage. The program (4 x 6.25 inches, folded) is in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. A superb example of one of the most highly prized of all baseball scorecard designs. Matted and framed to the total dimensions of 19 x 10.25 inches. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Opening Bid $300.
