Offered are two items relating to the extremely rare 1968 Topps 3-D set: the easel stand-up insert that came in each pack (unpunched, Vg-Ex) and the wrapper (Ex, with normal folds and wrinkles). In the world of baseball-card collecting, many serious collectors revere the 1968 Topps 3-D set more than any other set of its era. Whether these cards were issued in stores remains a mystery, but legend has always had it that, as a test, a few boxes appeared in selected stores in Brooklyn, N.Y. To the best of our knowledge, however, most 1968 Topps 3-D cards can ultimately be traced back to someone who worked at Topps or Xograph, the company that produced them for Topps. The wrapper is particularly rare, but finding the die-cut easel stand-up card that was included in each pack (two easels and instructions on how to use them to display the 3-D cards) is virtually impossible. We have had the opportunity to offer only six examples of this special insert in the past twenty years. This is an extraordinary 1968 Topps 3-D collection featuring the rare easel insert and a wrapper. Total: 2 items. Opening Bid $500.
