Modestly graded example of Honus Wagner from the blue background series of M116 Sporting Life. This card is popular on many counts, including that the portrait is similar in appearance to the famous T206 Wagner and dates from the same era. The blue background series is the most desirable of the 1911 Sporting Life set. These cards are appreciated by collectors for their scarcity and distinctive style as well as for the unparalleled concentration of quality players in the series. The offered card has bold colors, outstanding registration, light corner wear (weaker bottom left), and a light diagonal crease running through Wagner's jersey. Graded POOR 1 by SGC largely due to a patch of added paper along the Sporting Life advertising reverse. Despite the low technical grade, this remains a very attractive example. Opening Bid $10.
