Two SGC-graded postcards from the extremely rare and highly regarded PC758 Max Stein Postcard set issued from 1909 to 1916, including New York Giants Hall of Famer Rube Marquard. The offered examples are especially noteworthy as they both have the scarce “United States Publishing House, Chicago” copyright line printed on the back. Both cards are graded and encapsulated GOOD 30 by SGC (submitted by REA). 1) Rube Marquard: bright and crisp, clean image with strong corners and no creases or wrinkles. Clean reverse with the number “149” written in pencil. 2) Heinie Zimmerman: clean, crisp image with strong corners showing only light wear, no creases or wrinkles, and a factory miscut with his name printed at the top. Overall clean reverse with the number “151” noted in pencil. The cards have never been mailed. Baseball photographer Max Stein's classic photo-finish postcards are among the most revered of all early twentieth-century postcards. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Total: 2 cards. Opening Bid $300.
