Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. One of only two examples graded at any level by SGC. Very attractive example of Ulysses S. Grant from this extremely rare nineteenth-century nonsport tobacco-card set. Catalogued N151 and issued by Duke & Sons, the set features photographic portraits of people from all walks of life, including public officials, military heroes, presidents, actresses, and even a few children. The most desirable subjects to collectors are cards featuring the most famous people of the era, and this lot features one such extremely noteworthy subject.
