Presented is one of the greatest panoramic photos ever taken of old timers and only the fourth example of this extreme rarity we have ever offered. It also has the very special provenance of having originated from the personal collection of Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan. Boston's great reverence for baseball history has always been impressive, and this appreciation was celebrated with an early old timers' game in 1930 featuring one of the most impressive rosters of past stars ever assembled in one place. Sixteen future Hall of Fame players are pictured in this stunning panoramic photograph capturing the fifty-five participants in the Boston Braves Old Timers' Day festivities held on September 8, 1930. Among the many notables are Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins, Edd Roush, John Evers, Fred Clarke, Ed Walsh, Billy Hamilton, Hugh Duffy, Cy Young, Roger Bresnahan, Bill McKechnie, Jimmy Collins, Harry Hooper, Frank Baker, Chief Bender, "Smoky" Joe Wood, Jack Coombs, Candy LaChance, Nick Altrock, Hank Gowdy, and Stuffy McInnis. Many of the players are wearing the uniforms of their former Major League teams, and others are wearing either minor league or college uniforms (probably representing the teams they were currently coaching). All the players are identified along the base of the photo in white lettering. "Old Timers' Day. Braves Field, Boston - Sept 8, 1930" is lettered along the top of the photo. A "Boylston Photo Studios" copyright stamp appears in the upper-right corner. It is likely that an original panoramic photograph was sent to each participating player as a gift of thanks for attending, as has long been the custom at such special events, and that this example almost certainly once belonged to one of the players. The photo (22-3/8 x 7-3/8 inches), which has outstanding clarity, has been trimmed. It is in Excellent condition overall. Please note this piece has been stored rolled and will shipped as such.
