This complete set of Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards is composed of 275 cards (including the fifteen checklist cards) and includes 88 signed player cards, plus three signed non-ballplayer cards (Ed Stack, on two separate cards, and Peggy Steele, Frank Steele, and Dick Perez [all on the same card]). Perez-Steele Hall of Fame postcards, which are one of the classic issues for autograph collectors, were originally issued in fifteen individual series between 1980 and 2001. With the exception of seven cards (featuring Hall of Fame Officials, Perez-Steele Gallery executives, and other non-ballplayers) only Baseball Hall of Fame members are included in the set. Each card was limited to a print run of 10,000, and every card is individually numbered on the reverse. Of the 275 cards in the set, only 104 could possibly have been signed by Hall of Fame players (the balance of the players passed away prior to the date of publication). The offered collection, which consists of cards from different-numbered sets, includes 88 of those 104 players. All of the cards have been signed on the front in either blue or black ink. Condition of the cards is 75% ranging from Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (averaging Nr/Mt), with 25% lesser grades (mostly Vg-Ex to Ex). Included in this lot are 295 unsigned yellow Hall of Fame postcards (Nr/Mt overall, with some slightly higher and lower). Organized by series, the following are the 91 signed cards in this collection: Second Series: Hubbell and Gehringer; Third Series: Terry, DiMaggio, and Feller; Fourth Series: Appling, T. Williams, Musial, and Boudreau; Fifth Series: Berra, Gomez, Koufax, Leonard, Wynn, Irvin, Spahn, Conlan, Ford, Mantle, Herman, and J. Johnson; Sixth Series: Kiner, Lemon, Roberts, Banks, Lopez, Sewell, Mathews, Mays, Kaline, Snider, Gibson, Mize, and Stack; Seventh Series: Aaron, Chandler, T. Jackson, F. Robinson, Kell, Marichal, and B. Robinson; Eighth Series: Aparicio, Drysdale, Ferrell, Killebrew, Reese, Brock, Slaughter, and Wilhelm; Ninth Series: Doerr, McCovey, Dandridge, Hunter, B. Williams, and Perez/Frank/Peggy Steele; Tenth Series: Stargell, Barlick, Bench, Schoendienst, Yastrzemski, and Stack; Eleventh Series: Morgan, Palmer, Carew, Jenkins, and Perry; Twelfth Series: Fingers, Newhouser, Seaver, Jackson, Rizzuto, and Carlton; Thirteenth Series: Asburn, Schmidt, Bunning, and Weaver; Fourteenth Series: Lasorda, Niekro, Doby, MacPhail, Sutton, Brett, Cepeda, Ryan, and Yount; Fifteenth Series: Anderson, Fisk, Perez, Mazeroski, Winfield and Puckett.
