Presented is an extremely rare original Topps retail package featuring two unopened wax boxes of 1971-1972 Topps basketball housed within a cardboard slipcase. Each box has twelve unopened wax packs with each pack containing ten cards and a Topps Trio sticker, for a total 264 cards (240 from the set and 24 Trios). Referring to this dual-box package as rare might be understating how difficult it is to find for collectors of unopened material. This is the first example we have ever seen, let alone offered! The offered item, which comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange, is an incredible surviving gem. The slipcase, as well as the pair of unopened boxes inside, have light handling wear. This is an exceptional unopened box, one of the rarest of all unopened issues, appearing as it did on a store shelf over fifty years ago! Opening Bid $25,000.
