In the world of unopened packs, this unopened 1951 Topps Red Backs rack pack with 1951 Topps team cards and Connie Mack All-Stars qualifies as one of the "holy grails." In fact, as far as early Topps packs go, in our opinion this is the holy grail. The rack pack includes a complete set of fifty-two Red Backs in their original, uncut, two-panel form, an instruction sheet for playing the game, three 1951 Connie Mack All-Stars cards, and two 1951 Topps Team cards. The complete set of Red Backs as well as the team cards and Connie Macks are all "untouched by human hands." The 1951 Red Backs set includes the following eight Hall of Famers: Berra, Rizzuto, Wynn, Kiner, Feller, Spahn, Snider, and Irvin. The identity of the Topps Team cards and Connie Mack All-Stars cards cannot be determined as they are tucked between the panels of the Red Backs set. They appear to be in Near Mint condition. This is only the third example of this 1951 Topps rack pack that we have offered in the past twenty years. It is an incredibly rare, substantial, and historically significant unopened rack pack in extraordinary condition, looking as it did when it appeared on a candy-store rack in 1951, direct from the earliest days of Topps and the "golden era" of baseball cards. This pack is one of the few early packs (maybe the only one) that is guaranteed to contain so many cards (a total of fifty-seven) with such extraordinary value, including a complete set of 1951 Topps in uncut panel form, two 1951 Topps Team cards, and three 1951 Connie Mack All-Stars cards. Opening Bid $1,000.
