Rare Cincinnati Royals home uniform (jersey and shorts) worn by Hall of Fame point guard Oscar Robertson during the 1966-1967 season. Graded A10 by MEARS. The jersey is also accompanied by an LOA from Sports Investors Authentication, which has apparently matched the jersey to one worn by Robertson in games played on February 8 and March 1 of 1967. The white dureen jersey is lettered "Royals" down the left side and has the number "14" on the front and reverse. "Robertson" is lettered on the reverse directly above the number. All the numerals, along with the front lettering, are appliquéd in sold blue tackle twill. Located on the left front tail is a "Wilson 46" label. The matching white shorts, with blue trim bearing a belt, feature a "Wilson 36" tag in the waistband. Robertson's uniform number ("14") is written in black marker on the "Wilson" tag. Both the jersey and shorts are completely original as issued, with no alterations, and display moderate wear. Oscar Robertson is widely considered to be one of the greatest all-around basketball players in history. The "Big O" averaged over 30 points per game in six of his first seven seasons and is still the only player in history to average a triple-double in a season. Numbered among his many honors and achievements are the 1960-1961 NBA Rookie of the Year Award, the 1963-1964 MVP Award, nine consecutive All NBA First Team selections (1960-1968), and twelve All-Star Game appearances. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 and was again honored sixteen years later when he was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in the NBA. This Oscar Robertson uniform ranks as one of the finest known to exist! This is a superb museum-quality example in all respects and one that would be an extremely significant highlight in an advanced uniform collection. Graded A10 by MEARS (base grade of 10, with no deductions). Full LOA from MEARS. Full LOA from David Randolph and Austin Bevere/Sports Investors Authentication. Opening Bid $50,000.
