Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. One of two examples graded at this level with just two graded higher. Extraordinary and absolutely stunning high-grade example of 1953 Stahl-Meyer Mickey Mantle. Stahl-Meyer Franks cards are among the rarest and most attractive of all regional issues. They are also among the most difficult to find in high grade. Stahl-Meyers were regionally issued in the New York area, one card per package, with Stahl-Meyer Franks. The set includes a selection of stars from all three New York teams. They are usually found with serious condition problems relating to their method of issue, including creases and hot-dog stains. This is an unbelievably high grade Stahl-Meyer of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set. The card is entirely clean both front and back, with bold colors, flawless image clarity, and very light toning in the borders. This is an exceptional high-grade example of one of the keys of all 1950s regional issues and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards. Opening Bid $5,000.
