Graded EX 5 by SGC. Outstanding mid-grade example of Babe Ruth (Type 1) from the 1932 Sanella Margarine series. Issued in Germany, this beautiful full-color issue of 112 different subjects measures 2-3/4 x 4-1/8 inches and includes all types of athletes (boxing, football, tennis, wrestling, track, etc.). The text on the reverse is printed in German. The card features a full-color image of Ruth hitting a homer. There are three different back-printing variations of the set. The offered example is the “Type 1” variation, which has a Sanella advertisement located toward the center. This card has brilliant colors, a crisp image, and light corner wear (slightly weaker bottom right). Boldly printed reverse.
