Rare ticket stub from Mickey Mantle's first Major League game, with the New York Yankees against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium on on April 17, 1951. Graded VG 3 by PSA. This is one of only four examples graded at this level with NONE graded higher! Mickey Mantle made his regular-season Major League debut in front an opening-day crowd of 44,860. Batting third and playing right field, Mantle had one hit in four at-bats, with his first Major League hit, an RBI single off of Bill Wright, coming in the sixth inning with one out. This is just the third example of this 1951 New York Yankees opening-day ticket stub we have offered in past 20 years. The stub (1-7/16 x 2-13/16 inches), issued for a "Mezzanine Reserved Seat," is lettered "Opening Day" in red, with a the number "1" denoting the first game of the season at Yankee Stadium. The date is also preprinted on the ticket stub. Light creasing accounts for the assigned grade. This is a high-grade example of this important ticket stub and one that would make a welcome addition to an advanced Mickey Mantle, New York Yankees, or baseball ticket collection. Reserve $25,000.
