Graded VG 3 by BVG (Beckett). Extremely desirable example of Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson from the 1948 "Sports Thrills" set issued by Swell Bubble Gum. The 20-card set is devoted to great moments in baseball history. The offered example displays a crisp image, even corner wear, and centering toward the extreme right. Clean reverse. We grade this card more conservatively than Beckett on account of moderate creasing and a small spot of paper loss above his cap. This is a very pleasing example of one of the most overlooked and significant (due to its year of issue) of all Jackie Robinson cards. Reserve $1,000.
