Ticket stub issued for Game 3 of the 1923 World Series between the New York Yankees and New York Giants held at Yankee Stadium on October 12th. The Giants defeated the Yankees 1-0 in Game 3, with the only run coming on a home run by future Hall of Fame manager Casey Stengel. After having lost the previous two World Series to their crosstown rivals, the Yankees exacted their revenge in 1923 by defeating the Giants in six games, giving the club its first World Championship in franchise history. The ticket (4 x 2.25 inches) displays heavy creases and evidence of album removal on the reverse. Both the score of the game and "Charlie Chaplin's ticket" is noted in black ink on the reverse.
