Scarce postcard commemorating the Cubs' victory over the Tigers in the 1907 World Series. The illustration features a deceased Tiger lying in a coffin, with the caption above reading “Died October – ’07 Clubbed to Death Too Bad.” An addendum, printed on the sash covering the coffin reads, “From the Cubs with Regrets.” Published by the Simplicity Company of Chicago, as noted in the lower-right corner. The card has been addressed and mailed, with the postmark dated “Chicago Oct 16 1907.” The World Series ended on October 12, so these postcards were obviously issued immediately after the Series. The postcard (5.5 x 3.5 inches) displays normal handling wear, including a few light creases. In Good condition overall. Reserve $100.
