Presented is a rarely offered near-complete set (minus two) of forty-one 1961 Kahn's Wieners cards. Missing Roberto Clemente and Vic Power for completion. This distinctive and very scarce 1960s regional issue features players from the Reds, Pirates, and Indians. Thirty-seven cards in the set have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (36) and Beckett (1). Grading Composite: NM-MT 8 (4 cards): Face, Mazeroski, Post, and Stuart. NM+ 7.5 (1 card): Temple. EX-MT+ 6.5 (1 card): Schofield. EX-MT 6 (4 cards): Cimoli, Groat (MK), Held, and Kasko. EX+ 5.5 (1 card): Smith. EX 5 (11 cards): Antonelli, Bailey, Brosnan, Burgess, Coleman, Francona, Grant, Nelson, O'Toole, Perry, and Purkey. VG-EX 4 (10 cards): Gary Bell, Gus Bell, Dykes, Freese, Hoak, Hook, Kirkland, Lynch, Maloney, and Skinner. VG 3 (1 card): Romano. GOOD 2 (1 card): Jay. POOR 1 (2 cards): Friend and Law. Signed (1 card): Haddix (BVG Authenticated). Ungraded (4 cards): Mizell (Ex+), Phillips (Vg-Ex), Pinson (Ex+), and F. Robinson (Fr due to small spot of paper loss on reverse). Kahn's Wieners cards are far rarer than most 1960s baseball cards and are one of the few food issues of the era. The total SMR value for just 21 of the 37 graded cards (factoring in the three half grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the one qualified card or the fifteen cards graded less than EX) is $800. Total: 41 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Reserve $300.
