Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. Modestly graded 1911 T205 Gold Border variation card of Cincinnati first baseman Dick Hoblitzell, with no statistics on the reverse. There are several variations of Hoblitzell in the T205 set. The "No Stats" version is by far the rarest. In fact, this variation card is acknowledged to be the single rarest of all cards in the T205 "Gold Border" series. Though not as well known as the greatest and most valuable tobacco-card rarities of T206, most advanced tobacco-card collectors believe the T205 "Hoblitzell No Stats" card is comparable, or even rarer, to the T206 Wagner, Plank, or Magie cards. The offered example features vibrant colors, a crisp image, excellent centering, and honest corner wear. The all-important reverse is centered toward the top and is boldly printed. Light creasing and wear along the delicate gold borders factor into the assigned grade. This is an pleasing example of this significant tobacco-card rarity. Reserve $10.
