Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC. Modestly graded example of one of Ruth's truly great early 1920s cards. The V61 Neilson's Chocolate Type 2 series is one of the most substantial and overlooked sets from the 1920s. This is the key card from the set and one of Ruth's earliest cards featuring him with the Yankees. This example displays a strong image, honest corner wear, centering slightly toward the right, and a small patch of staining along the top edge. Boldly printed "Neilson's Big League Bars" advertising reverse displaying a few spots of surface wear, which factors into the assigned grade. It is interesting to note that this card was produced utilizing the same design and image as the American Caramel E120 series. Few cards of Ruth date from the early 1920s. This is a relatively affordable Babe Ruth card, dating from the early 1920s (an era in which few cards sets of any quality were issued). Reserve $10.
