Graded FAIR 1.5 by PSA. Modestly graded example of 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle. One of card collecting's classics, Mantle's #311 Topps card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. Recently, an SGC MINT+ 9.5 example sold at public auction for $12.6 million dollars, a record for any sports item, card, or memorabilia. This example has brilliant colors, outstanding registration, honest corner wear, and excellent centering. Boldly printed reverse. Downgraded largely due to moderate creasing and a few spots of paper loss (top border, bottom border, and to the left of Mantle's cap). While technically a low-grade example, this card has strong visual appeal! The most iconic cards such as the 1952 Topps Mantle always have tremendous interest to collectors in all grades. In fact, while lower-grade examples are naturally more affordable, it is precisely for this reason that lower-grade examples of important cards often have even more collectors interested in them! This card will undoubtedly be of enormous appeal to collectors looking to acquire a very pleasing yet comparatively affordable example of the most popular and desirable postwar card ever produced. Reserve $5,000.
