Official National League baseball (White) signed by Ronald Reagan (1911-2004), 40th president of the United States. Reagan's signature has been scripted in green ink near the sweet spot. Reagan single-signed balls are rare and by far the most difficult to obtain of the past ten presidents (1969 to present). This is just the fourth we have offered in past twenty years. This particular ball has a special provenance of originating directly from the personal collection of Vin Scully, the voice of the Dodgers on radio and television for 67 years, the longest tenure for any broadcaster with a single team in the history of professional sports. His first game with the Dodgers took place on opening day, April 18, 1950, in Philadelphia, and his final game came on October 2, 2016, in San Francisco. Bill White was president of the National League from 1989 to 1994, so this ball was most likely signed by Reagan shortly after his eight-year presidential term (1981-1989). The ball is in Excellent to Mint condition overall. Accompanied by a one-page typewritten letter of provenance from Vin Scully. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $1,000.
