Encapsulated and certified as an original Type I photograph by PSA/DNA. Braves catcher Bill Salkeld is also pictured trying to block the plate with his foot. To the left of the photo, plate umpire Jocko Conlan has the perfect angle to make the call. The original paper news caption dated "8-22-48" appears on the reverse, along with an "Acme Newspictures" credit stamp. As noted in the caption, Robinson's stolen base occurred in the fifth inning to put the Dodgers ahead by a run. The photo (9 x 7 inches) has tack holes in each corners and a number of light creases. In Very Good condition overall. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $1,000.
