Ticket stub for an unspecified Cleveland home game. Although the ticket is undated, it bears the facsimile signature of team president Charles Somers on the front. Somers was president of the club from 1910 to 1915. Based upon that narrow span, the holder of this ticket most likely saw Joe Jackson and Nap Lajoie take the field for Cleveland at this game, and even possibly Addie Joss or Cy Young, as both were with Cleveland at least one of those six seasons. It is interesting to note that the reverse of the stub has the printed text "No Gambling Allowed - Persons offering to make a bet on these grounds will be arrested." Issued during a time when the game of baseball was surrounded by many unsavory characters, this ticket shows the attempt by organized baseball to clean up the seen. The stub (2.5 x 1.75 inches) has scattered creasing and a small spot of surface paper loss on the reverse. In Good condition overall. Encapsulated as Authentic PSA. Reserve $200.
