The 1919 Cincinnati Reds remain one of baseball’s most memorable clubs due to their World Series association with the Chicago White Sox, baseball’s most infamous club. Offered is a large and desirable 1919 Cincinnati Reds signature collection featuring eleven different players. Two of the signatures are in the form of endorsements on 1920s Cincinnati Reds payroll checks. Unless otherwise noted, all of the signatures are penned in blue or black ink on 3 x 5-inch index cards (lined and unlined). 1) Rube Bressler. 2) Ray Fisher. 3) Heine Groh. 4) Larry Kopf (cut from a check and taped to index card). 5) Adolfo Luque (on a Reds payroll check dated 6/15/28 and endorsed “Adolfo Luque” on the reverse, 8-3/8 x 3-3/8 inches). The payroll check has normal bank cancellation stamps and perforations. Vg condition. 6) Jimmy Ring (includes the salutation “Compliments of”). 7) Dutch Ruether. 8) Henry Schreiber. 9) Jimmy Smith (includes the salutation “Sincerely”). 10) Ivy Wingo (on a Reds payroll check dated 5/18/20 and endorsed “Ivy B.
