Near-complete, original unopened wax box of 1983 Donruss baseball. The box houses thirty-one packs (missing five for completion) with each pack wrapped in a 1984 Donruss wrapper and all the packs housed in a 1984 Donruss display box. It is interesting to note that the box is stamped "SAMPLES NOT FOR RESALE" on both the interior-side and front-flap of the top lid. This was likely a test box at the time. The 1983 Donruss set features rookie cards of Hall of Famers Wade Boggs, Tony Gwynn, and Ryne Sandberg, as well as numerous other stars and Hall of Famers, including Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, and Cal Ripken. The store display box is bright and bold and has light shelf wear. Steve Hart of the Baseball Card Exchange (the leading authority on unopened material) has personally reviewed these packs, and in his opinion, they are original and unopened.
