Complete set of thirty-six 1955 Johnston Cookies Braves cards highlighted by Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Warren Spahn, and Eddie Mathews and presented in their original uncut foldout "accordion-style" panel form as issued (six panels). The regionally issued 1955 Johnston Cookie set features only Milwaukee Braves players. This was the third and final year that Johnston Cookies issued cards, and the design was very different from that of the previous two years. The cards were issued in six foldout panels of six cards each (Andy Pafko was double printed). One panel was inserted in each box of cookies. In addition, panels were also made available directly from Johnston Cookies for 5 cents per series through a premium mail-in offer. The address side of each panel displays extra paper and glue residue from one-time storage in an album. The interior cards grade as follows: Series 1 (Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt overall [with one Vg-Ex] including Nr/Mt Aaron), Series 2 (Vg-Ex overall, with one better), Series 3 (Ex-Mt overall [with one Vg-Ex] including Ex-Mt Spahn), Series 4 (Ex-Mt overall, with one Vg-Ex), Series 5 (Ex to Ex-Mt overall [with one Vg-Ex] including Ex-Mt Mathews), Series 6 (Ex-Mt overall, with two Vg-Ex). Cards from this set are most frequently seen cut apart, as intended. This is a very attractive complete set from the golden years of regional issues, presented in their rare original uncut form as issued. Total: 6 panels (36 cards). Reserve $300.
