Graded NM 7 (MC) by PSA. High-grade example of Mantle's most striking and popular cards, dating from Mantle's rookie season. Getting this card in a pack in 1951 was as good as it got. This example boasts vibrant colors, strong corners, a flawless surface, and centering toward the extreme top edge and slightly right. Clean front and back, with no distracting print lines as are so commonly found with this card. The back is also particularly clean, with no wax wrapper or gum stains, which are often a problem with 1951 Bowmans. Recently, high-grade examples have soared to new levels, including REA's most recent 2021 sale of $174,000 for a PSA NM 7 example. This card is difficult to value in that we believe it is very accurately graded and, as stated by the label, it is in NM condition, yet it is appropriately qualified for centering. Whatever the value, this is a high-quality rookie card of Mickey Mantle, the key card from the 1951 Bowman set. Reserve $2,500.
