Collection of seven extraordinarily rare nineteenth-century boxing tobacco cards, all graded and encapsulated by SGC (submitted by REA). These cards are part of an exciting, fresh-to-the-hobby collection consigned to this auction by the family of a Midwestern collector who built his impressive collection over a period of many decades, beginning as a young boy in the 1930s. N174 Old Judges are very similar to the N172 Old Judge baseball series, but considerably rarer (and, of course, feature boxers). SGC Grading Composite: GOOD+ 2.5 (1 card): Jack Fogarty. GOOD 2 (1 card): Charley Mitchell. FAIR 1.5 (5 cards): Patsy Cardiff, Jack Dempsey, George LaBlanche, Tommy Warren, and Tug Wilson.
