Incredible complete unopened wax box of 1962 Topps Football containing twenty-four original unopened 5-cents wax packs. This is an extremely rare complete unopened box! To the best of our knowledge, this is the only complete unopened box of this issue that has been offered at public auction. The black-bordered 1962 Topps football set is very popular among collectors and features all the stars of the era, including rookie cards of Hall of Famers Mike Ditka and Fran Tarkenton, and many other Hall of Famers and stars, including Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Ernie Davis (rookie), Bart Starr, and Roman Gabriel (rookie). While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, it is entirely possible that this box includes MINT and GEM MINT examples of these stars as well as the other cards in the set. This box comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (owned by Steve Hart, the foremost expert on unopened material). The display box has survived in stunning condition with bright colors and minimal shelf wear. This extraordinary high-grade unopened wax box, which looks almost exactly as it did when it sat on a candy-store shelf in 1962, would be an extremely significant addition to even the most advanced football or unopened wax-box collection. Opening Bid $25,000.
