Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA (submitted by REA). A very sharp mid-grade example of one of the key cards from the classic T201 Mecca Double Folders set, featuring Hall of Famer Walter Johnson and Charles Street of the Washington Americans. T201 Double Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive of all tobacco-card issues. The thin stock on which they are printed makes them especially susceptible to soft corners as well as to very slight wrinkles, creases, and edge wear. These cards were designed to be played with, folded up and down, so it is not surprising that normal handling would result in few truly high-grade examples surviving. This is a remarkable mid-grade example of one the key Hall of Famers in the set. Bright and crisp with bold colors, and perfect registration. Very light corner wear and a subtle irregular factory cut along the left and right edges (as made and mentioned for accuracy). The reverse is entirely clean. This is a magnificent example that would be a worthy addition to any high-quality T201, Walter Johnson, or prewar-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate (open).
