Presented is an extraordinary complete "Factory Sealed Bags" set of 1984-1985 Star Company Basketball cards, highlighted by the legendary rookie card of arguably the greatest all-around player in NBA history, Michael Jordan. This 288-card set is offered in twenty-four individual factory sealed bags as issued. The issue was limited to approximately 3,000 sets (which immediately sold out). Each factory sealed bag features a 12-card team set and is composed of the following teams to assemble a complete 288-card set: Boston Celtics (#1-12), Los Angeles Clippers (#13-24), New York Knicks (#25-37), Phoenix Suns (#38-51), Indiana Pacers (#52-63), San Antonio Spurs (#64-75), Atlanta Hawks (#76-87), New Jersey Nets (#88-100), Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan Rookie (#101-112), Seattle Supersonics (#113-124), Milwaukee Bucks (#125-136), Denver Nuggets (#137-148), Golden State Warriors (#149-160), Portland Trail Blazers (#161-171), Los Angeles Lakers (#172-184), Washington Bullets (#185-194), Olympic/NBA Specialty (#195-200 and #281-288), Philadelphia 76ers (#201-212), Cleveland Cavaliers (#213-224), Utah Jazz (#225-236), Houston Rockets (#237-249), Dallas Mavericks (#250-260), Detroit Pistons (#261-269), and Sacramento Kings (#270-280). A complete set in unopened form is extremely rare! All cards appear to be NM-MT or better, having been perfectly preserved for the last thirty-five years. The Olympic/NBA Specialty bag has two white stickers affixed to the plastic wrapping. This set predates the more well-known 1986-1987 Fleer basketball set by a full two years, and features Jordan's first appearance on a trading card. Very few of these "Factory Sealed Bag" sets have ever been offered for sale or public auction over the past thirty-five years, and this set would easily be one of the centerpieces of any Michael Jordan or basketball-card collection. Reserve $5,000. Estimate $10,000+.
