Topps had last produced a set during the 1981-1982 season, and Fleer did not produce a followup to their landmark 1961-1962 set until the 1986-1987 season. Distributed directly through the hobby as limited print run, small poly-bagged team (or theme) sets (rather than in wax packs), the cards featured many future Hall of Famers' only cardboard appearances until their more mainstream Fleer issues, including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, John Stockton, and Dominique Wilkins. This is an outstanding collection of thirty-four different basketball subsets, including dozens of Hall of Famers and stars of the era. Total: 522 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
