Superb example of one of the most desirable icons in the world of collecting: a Babe Ruth single-signed baseball. A Babe Ruth signed baseball is one of the few items with an appeal so universal that it transcends all areas of collecting. Offered is an outstanding example of this collecting classic, which is additionally noteworthy as it bears a remarkable portrait of Ruth painted on the side panel. The artist (Packer) has added his name underneath the image of Ruth, which is illustrated in full color. The manufacturer stampings of the baseball have faded through the passage of time, but the ball is otherwise perfectly clean and even in color, with only a few tiny age spots visible. Graded EX 5 by PSA/DNA (signature grade of 5 and baseball grade of 5), we cannot help but feel that they have been overly conservative on the quality of Ruth's signature. It is well scripted on the sweet spot in blue ink and in our opinion grades "7." This is an extremely clean and exceptionally attractive single-signed Babe Ruth baseball with the added bonus of a Ruth rendering positioned near to the signature for ideal display.
