Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Very attractive mid-grade example of Mickey Mantle's true rookie card. One of card collecting's classics, Mantle's Bowman rookie card is the key to the 1951 Bowman set and one of the most popular of all postwar baseball cards. Presented is an attractive example featuring a crisp image and virtually flawless registration. Centered toward the top right, with even wear at the corners. Free of any print lines, which are extremely common to this card. The reverse is also particularly clean, free of wax stains, a problem that often plaque 1951 Bowmans. This is a particularly desirable grade for a Mantle rookie card. In all grades, this card sells for a very respectable sum since Mantle's rookie card is always in great demand; however, the card's value rises exponentially as its grade increases.
