Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Exceptional ultra-high-grade example of #223 Dizzy Dean (St. Louis Cardinals) from the classic 1933 R319 Goudey set. Dean began his pitching career in 1932; it was brief but spectacular. From 1932 to 1936 he won 120 games, including thirty in 1934. He was also one of the game’s most popular and irrepressible characters and the central figure of St. Louis’ legendary “Gas House Gang” of the 1930s. This card boasts deep, rich colors and clean off-white borders, with very light touches of wear at the corners. Crisp and clean, both front and back. Dizzy Dean appears in far fewer quality baseball-card sets than many other extremely significant Hall of Famers. This is a very attractive, extremely high-grade PSA example of one of the most popular Hall of Famers of the 1930s and one that would be a significant addition to virtually any 1933 Goudey PSA Registry set or Hall of Fame collection. Reserve $2,000.
