Extremely rare collection of thirty-six unopened wax packs from the 1981 Topps Irish "Wacky Packages" test series, issued by a Topps subsidiary located in Ireland. These packs originate from the collection of a former Topps employee. Topps considered expanding its popular "Wacky Packages" series into the United Kingdom in 1981, so they created a 33-card set of stickers and produced these packs, each of which include two cards and a piece of gum. Ultimately the series was not produced abroad until 1985, which makes the 1981 test series an extreme rarity among collectors. We have never handled an unopened pack from this series, let alone what likely amounts to a complete or near-complete wax box of this scarce test issue. It is obvious from their construction that these packs were for test purposes only as they are housed in plain white wax wrappers with the "Wacky Packages" logo affixed to the front and a small strip of copyright information affixed to the reverse. The packs remain in Excellent to Near Mint condition overall and represent a tremendous relic of this scarce test issue from the popular "Wacky Packages" dynasty. Total: 36 packs. Reserve $200.
