Presented is a phenomenal piece of pop culture and rock history: original artwork of the famous "Tongue and Lips" logo of the Rolling Stones, hand-drawn and hand-painted by John Pasche. Pasche, who designed the logo in 1970 as a young art student, consulted with legendary front man Mick Jagger during the process. According to a 2020 New York Times article, Pasche said that Jagger "wanted an image that could work on its own... like the Shell Petroleum logo. He wanted that kind of simplicity." Today, this iconic logo is instantly recognizable by Rolling Stones and music fans worldwide. Rendered in gouache and pencil on heavy weight 300 g/m art paper, Pasche signed in pencil below the logo. Paper measures 31.5 x 31.5 inches. In Excellent condition overall. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Reserve $5,000.
